Thanks so much, Tom — and yes, I think Google/YouTube would be wiser to not make the Channel Redesign mandatory. Then again, that didn’t work out so well for MySpace (who has left it up to users to choose). Still, I’m for being able to choose on this one.

Just wanted to thank you for the valuable content you are providing. Your thoroughness is much appreciated.

Per your thought toward making the YouTube Channel upgrade optional, one wonders whether it might be a wise business practice on Google’s part. I cannot help but think of what Microsoft has done over the years to make some of their not-well-tested stuff “mandatory.” Very frustrating (but a great strategy for driving business to Apple, no doubt).
